New HedgeStreet Intraday Contract Features
CHICAGO, December 8, 2008 - HedgeStreet, Inc., the first regulated, retail-focused futures exchange in the US for online binary options trading, announced that it will be making certain improvements to its Intraday Contracts beginning December 08, 2008. These new intraday binary features will give HedgeStreet members the opportunity to take advantage of additional short-term binary option contracts using a more streamlined and innovative structure on the HedgeStreet Exchange.
First, HedgeStreet is removing the "<=" strike for all existing intraday assets and close times. In other words, the intraday offerings currently include both an "Up" and a "Down" contract and the Exchange is discontinuing the "Down" contracts. The intraday contracts will now consist only of ">" strikes (or the "Up") for all assets and close times. With this change, all the binary contracts on the Exchange will be ">" contracts that require the underlying price to expire above the option's strike price for a buyer to finish in-the-money.
Second, HedgeStreet will offer 3 strike levels for all intraday expirations. For each intraday asset and close time, members will be able to choose the intraday strike levels at which they want to trade.
Third, HedgeStreet will add new intraday expirations on Forex and Commodities. Intraday binary option contracts will be expanded to include the following six trading periods for Forex: 8-10am, 9-11am, 10am-12pm, 11am-1pm, 12-2pm, and 1-3pm (ET). Crude Oil, Gold and Silver intraday binary options will now cover the periods 8-10am, 9-11am, 10am-12pm, 11am-1pm and, with respect to only Crude Oil, 12-2pm (ET).
Lastly, HedgeStreet is adding intraday binaries for Equity Index assets, including the Germany 30 and FTSE 100®. For these equity index products, intraday binary option contracts will be offered daily during the following seven trading periods: 8-10am, 9-11am, 10am-12pm, 11am-1pm, 12-2pm, 1-3pm and 2-4pm (ET).
These additional intraday intervals overlap one another by one hour. Therefore, throughout most of the trading day, members will have the chance to trade more than one interval at a time. Settled funds will be made available shortly after the specified close time for each intraday contract, when the Expiration Values have been calculated and settlement is completed for the relevant intraday trading period.
